January 2017

Happy New Year to all! 2017 has begun.

Cliff and Milissa Oppenheim The first wedding took place on January 5. The Nautilus is a lovely condominium complex on the south end of Marco Island and overlooks the waterway. The ceremony was held at 1:00 p.m. and it couldn't have been a more beautiful day for January. About 20 guests attended three of whom were Milissa's children as well as Cliff's daughter. Milissa has two sets of twins, 2 girls and 1 girl and 1 boy. However, one of her daughters was unable to make the wedding. When it came time for the ceremony, we all stood on a grassy knoll outside the pool area. I stood in between two palm trees and performed the ceremony. When it came time for the rings, Cliff swore his love to Milissa. Milissa then had a surprise for Cliff. Since he loves to fish so much, she attached a hook, line and sinker, and said Cliff had really caught HER, hook, line and sinker! It was so cute. It is in one of the photos but a bit difficult to see.

Their friend, Andy, who lives on the first floor, had help rolling out his piano onto the pool area, and played the Wedding March as Milissa approached Cliff. Just before the ring ceremony, Andy played a song called "The Story" by Brandi Carlie. I read the words as the song played, but the last line of the three stanzas, we all sang together: AND I WAS MADE FOR YOU. It was awesome!

Michael and Megan Dawson The next wedding took place the same day at 4:45 p.m. on the 14th Avenue beach in Naples. It was very private, only the two of them, the photographer and me. The weather was equally as beautiful that evening as it had been earlier. Megan was so nervous that I just hugged her to calm her down. She looked gorgeous. They chose the lovely Hand and Beach Ceremony and received a round of applause after the ceremony. My job was done after a few photos. I gave them their Keepsake Booklet and headed to Marco Island.

May all my bridal couples live happily ever after.
